NEW ROUND OF ELECTRIC AND INTELLIGENT VEHICLES FUNDING NOW AVAILABLE

To date the Electric and Intelligent Vehicles project has awarded £110,000 worth of grants with projects totalling £275,000 covering various aspects of Electric and Intelligent Vehicle technology.

The types of projects the last round of funding has supported include:

• The specification, design and development of a compact / lightweight liquid cooled alternator and associated control electronics for integration within a series hybrid powertrain.

• To develop an access control system for wheelchair accessible vehicles that it simple to operate, robust, lightweight, inexpensive, reliable and able to inform the user and company of its serviceability state.

• Develop an Electric vehicle data tracking system comprising of on-vehicle hardware, specifically tailored to Electric Vehicles and a web based tracking management system.

• To develop processing technology for a lightweight structural sandwich panel suitable for electric vehicles.

The project offers grant support for West Midlands SMEs looking to access expertise relating to intelligent vehicle systems and electric vehicle technologies and is now accepting applications for the next round of grant funding.
